Lumière Pâtisserie

I visited later around closing time and despite this the lady at the register was very friendly and accommodating. Their butter croissants tend to lean on the sweeter side but still very flaky and have a great butter flavour (see cross section photo). I would argue one of the best croissants in Thornhill. Everything else I tasted showed that there was a lot of care and attention put into the making of these. The box it came in is beautiful as well, whether you are coming in to purchase as a gift or for yourself I would recommend Lumiere.

I bought these donuts and they found their way to the trash very quickly! It's just disgraceful to charge $5.50 for such a bad product! I really appreciate a quality product and am willing to pay what it takes to enjoy it, but these donuts are simply not edible! The dough is so hard and sticky, it feels terribly old, a few days old. The filling feels sour and lumpy, probably because it is not intended to remain unrefrigerated and is not suitable for doughnuts. I am a longtime customer of Lumiere and this place was really outstanding for me, but it seems that since the owners who were also the chefs of the place left and there is a new management this place just skydives! There is no respect for the customer and the considerable money he pays, I really feel as if I was sold leftovers from yesterday at an overpriced price! Let's not talk about the shelves that are empty and the place looks like it's going to close at any moment, so we're trying to get rid of all the leftovers. What a horrible and disappointing experience! I will never return and recommend you avoid wasting your money on this abomination!

One of my best experiences was not only with the cakes and pastries but also with the customer service at this bakery. Despite the store being closed for ten minutes, they opened it for me, warmly welcoming me inside. The first time I bought a 6 inch cold cheese cake, it was excellent, the best I've had in Canada. This time, I tried another 6inch cheese cake, and its taste was superb. Even their seemingly simple croissants have an extraordinary flavor. I highly recommend trying this bakery.

Absolutely amazing croissants! Truly best I've had in a long time! The sufganiyot however were pretty disappointing. They were very dense and chewy in an unpleasant way. The raspberry/cream cheese was very underfilled. Still the best of the three places I tried, but as just a donut, very lacking unfortunately. Croissants though? Amazing!
